Go Solar with UC Photons!

You found me!  My name is Garrett Lees and I started UC Photons in 2012 to offer my community the best solar-electric systems on the market at the lowest price. My systems are completely turn-key; you just sit back without a worry and watch the magic happen.  I’ll take care of everything from start to finish.  Here’s what I have to offer:

  • 100% monocrystalline modules
  • Microinverters
  • Professional mounting systems (roof and ground)
  • Masterful installation

If you are curious about going solar and want to know more, it would be my pleasure to guide you through the process step by step — I’ll explain to you exactly how the system works and will go over all your options with you.  I do not believe in pressuring anybody. Take your time to decide.

I install only the best-quality top-of-the-line equipment. I would never put on your roof what I would not put on my own roof.

I never sub-out.  I design and build everything myself from start to finish so you know the system will be installed right.  Also, even after it’s up and running, I’m always accessible to you.  You’re part of the UC Photons family, which means you should always feel free to call me anytime with any comments, questions, or concerns.

In today’s economy, one would be very hard-pressed to find a better investment than solar.   My systems yield well over 10% return at very low risk.

I started building solar-electric systems as a hobbyist and enthusiast in 2010. As UC Photons, I built my first system on my own house in UC and then on my mom’s house down the road. Then I did my aunt and uncle’s house, also down the road in UC. Then I got a call from the parents of one of my childhood friends, and I solarized their house, also just down the road. They were happy with their system and they referred me to their friends, and I solarized their house as well.  Then two neighbors on my very street called me and I solarized their houses.  They told their friends, and they told their friends, and so on and so on. You get the idea. Eventually, I built enough systems to the point that one of the solar inspectors for the City of San Diego, who has inspected the work of over 500 solar companies in San Diego, said some very nice things about my work and asked me to build my system on his own house, which I did.

One day I got a call from a guy out in Lemon Grove who found me on the CCSE (California Center for Sustainable Energy) website, which I didn’t even know I was on, and when I finished his house and the Lemon Grove inspector came to inspect my work, the inspector said it was the best, cleanest, most professional solar installation he had ever seen, in over 20 years of inspections. He asked me for my business card and said I’ll be hearing from him when he’s ready to go solar. I’m currently building the Lemon Grove client’s brother’s ground mounted solar system in La Mesa. (Yes, University City Photons will travel outside of UC. So far I’ve built in Rancho Santa Fe, La Jolla, Clairemont, Escondido, Santee, Chula Vista, Lemon Grove, La Mesa, Del Cerro, Linda Vista, Bay Park, and El Cajon.)

Most of my business is word-of-mouth.  I have plenty of references and they all would be more than happy to answer any of your inquiries.

The main reason, I believe, that my clients are very happy with UC Photons and that I’m getting call after call from a referral, is that they got the latest-and-greatest cutting-edge modules and microinverters on the market, with the best, cleanest, most aesthetic installation, at the lowest price. (After the fact, many of my clients have shared with me their next lowest bid, which was much much higher than my price — and I gave them more power than that other bid offered.)

I am a C-46 Solar Contractor (#978633), licensed by and in good standing with the State of California’s Contractors State License Board (CSLB).  https://www2.cslb.ca.gov/OnlineServices/CheckLicenseII/CheckLicense.aspx

Bottom line: If you’re on the path to going solar, give me a call: 858-750-2300 (office) or 831-224-3015 (cell).  You will be glad you did.  I will save you money and build you a solid, worry-free, high-performance, maintenance-free system you can rely on.

“It’s raining photons!”  UC Photons will help you to harvest them!
